Organizing Is One Antidote to Anxiety
Mom! Where did you put my book? Where's the skin cream? Why can't I find anything in this house?!
These questions, asked and answered throughout the day can cause stress and anxiety.
Looking for things when you need them immediately is another source of anxiety and stress.
How's your medicine chest?
I know that when I need a tylenol, or a bandaid or anything "this instant" and I can't find "now!" I get very worked up. When someone else needs some such item and I have to get up and help look for it, I get worked up.
Organize your medicine cabinet!
Throw out any outdated meds or creams. You can check with your pharmacy or the company for additional information.
Sort the still good stuff according to category.
Skin care
Antibiotic creams
Sore muscle treatments
Medicines
Make-up
Make sure that anything little hands should not get to is on a high shelf.
Get small containers, such as drawer dividers that fit your space and place each category of items in its own container.
LABEL, LABEL, LABEL - now everyone knows where the item is and where belongs!!
Organizing is like therapy: Psychologists say that if you can label what your emotion is you can deal with it better. My take is that if you can identify easily where something is you have less to be anxious about.
Contact me and I can help you organize, arrange and label any space in your home that needs it.
A friendly suggestion: Don't know what to give a friend or relative when a gift is in order? Gift Certificates are available upon request!
